Hamilton Watch Co., Lancaster, Penn., "938", for Harrington & Freeman, Boston, 18 size, 17 jewels, stem wind, lever set, adjusted, damascened nickel plate movement with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, gold jewel settings, gold timing screws and Goldthwait micrometric regulator in a silveroid, swingout open face case, and Roman numerals, outer red five minute markers, double sunk white enamel dial and blued steel spade and whip hands, serial #10065, c1895.
CONDITION:
CASE: Case has housed another movement; Dings and pin pricks; Fine scratches on outer surface of case; Scratches on inner surface of case; Crystal with fine scratches; Bow a very poor replacement; Underside of front of pendant filed; Crown worn. DIAL: Cracks in enamel; Glued chip; Center with fracture and minor loss. HANDS: Minute with minor bend and loss to blue. MOVEMENT PLATES: Fine scratches on plate; Balance cock with scratches concentrated around regulator; Regulator assembly with oxidation; Upper center wheel jewel fractured; Specks of dirt / dust. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks), low amplitude, needs service.
